Music time

March 26th, 2011

I've been jamming with a small group of people, every so often over the past year. As a kid I learnt classic piano for quite a few years. When I first tried playing 'tab' (song lyrics with chord markings) I sucked really bad - I couldn't even keep my place in the song. I got better, and a few months tried my hand - or voice I should say - at singing.

One of my jam mates (Joi of Music) gave me a Red Hot Chili Peppers song book (I am a fan.) Today I spent a couple of hours practicing one of the songs (Otherside) and here is result.

Going to Alt.NET Seattle

March 9th, 2011

At AlamoCoders tonight, Jason Meridth happened to mention that the Alt.NET Seattle conference registration is open. I've been to several Alt.NET conferences over the past few years and they are always awesome, so I'm looking forward to this already.

Since I linked my conference registration to this blog I set up a couple of years ago but never used, I figured I should post somthing new at least. This is it... for now. If you're going to the conference, come say "hi" if you see me around.

Hello world, from WordPress!

July 5th, 2009

Got WordPress up and running with little trouble, following their comprehensive step-by-step guide.

The biggest hassle was figuring out how to ftp files to my godaddy.com account, something I have done before, by the way. Eventually I found the place to reset the ftp password, and after several attempts where the results page never stopped loading, got a message that the change was submitted and would become available within 30 minutes. 30 minutes to reset a password!!! Not a good customer experience.
